Caring Hands Adult Day Services is operated in Mansfield, Texas by the founder LaKeitha Van Zandt Muckelroy, who is a registered nurse with over 22 years of experience across the life span.
There were several occurrences that inspired her to develop the company to serve the community.
The first experience which inspired her was experiencing the loss of both her maternal and paternal grandmothers to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, along with caring for her father suffering with C.O.P.D. and needing the use of respite and personal assistance service.
These trying events led to her and her family encountering caregiver stress syndrome since they did not have the necessary resources.
However, experiencing her own life altering situation allowed her to view things from both a patient and professional aspect, which was what she needed to drive her to help others and birth her strong belief of, “Those that came before us and taught us, deserve our very best in return.”
